Validated comittments

Hufvudstaden has committed to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global initiative that helps companies set emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science and the Paris Agreement. We have completed the process for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Read more about Science Based Targets https://sciencebasedtargets.org/

 Hufvudstaden’s commitments

  • Hufvudstaden commits to reducing emissions from Scope 1 and 2 by 46% by 2030, using 2019 as the base year, and to measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions.

At Hufvudstaden, we are fully committed to doing everything we can to reduce our emissions. Our focus is on doing more with less to support sustainable development. This means using resources more efficiently, renovating more smartly, and managing waste flows more effectively. We aim for climate-neutral property management by 2025 and to halve emissions from project development by 2030.

The ongoing climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and it demands that we constantly work to reduce our emissions. The property sector accounts for a significant share of Sweden’s total emissions. We are therefore part of the problem – but also part of the solution, by taking responsibility and acting.

A key tool in reaching our climate targets is Hufvudstaden’s sustainability plan, which provides direction for our sustainability efforts and helps us create the best possible conditions for sustainable development. The plan supports responsible business development – economically, environmentally, and socially.

Based on our overall sustainability targets, every department at Hufvudstaden has developed its own goals and action plans.
