Waste management

Recycling and waste management are key sustainability issues for both Hufvudstaden and our tenants. We work continuously to make waste management clear, efficient, and user-friendly for our tenants. In our own construction projects, we actively work to reduce, recycle, and reuse the waste that arises.

Hufvudstaden's goal is to reduce the total volume of waste and increase the sorting rate in our properties and projects. As much of the waste as possible should be recycled or reused. Our target is to reach a minimum sorting rate of 70% of waste from both tenant operations and our own by 2030.

Waste in ourproperties

Together with our tenants, we work to reduce the total amount of waste and increase the share that is sorted instead of ending up as residual waste.

Waste from ourown projects

The construction waste generated during our renovation and fit-out projects is sorted on site according to established routines. Waste management is one of Hufvudstaden’s priority areas, and we actively work to reduce, recycle, and reuse waste in our construction projects.
