Toteme and Byredo expand in Bibliotekstan

Global brands Toteme and Byredo will expand in Bibliotekstan in 2024. Toteme is expanding its store space at Biblioteksgatan 5 when the current store is extended to include the neighbouring premises, creating a total area of approximately 350 square metres and more display windows on street level. And Byredo is moving to a larger premises of around 150 square metres at Mäster Samuelsgatan 3.

There is considerable interest in opening premises in Bibliotekstan at the moment. Hufvudstaden is therefore delighted that two Swedish-founded global brands have chosen to invest further in the area, a move that aligns fully with Hufvudstaden’s strategy to strengthen and develop Bibliotekstan to Scandinavia’s top shopping district.

We’re incredibly happy that Toteme and Byredo have chosen to expand in Bibliotekstan. Both brands contribute to further strengthening Bibliotekstan as Scandinavia’s top destination for premium and luxury shopping,” says Emanuel Westin, Head of Business Development Retail Hufvudstaden.

Toteme’s stylish and tone-setting design has become a worldwide success. Swedish duo Elin Kling and Karl Lindman founded the fashion house in 2014 to make well-curated collections with an emphasis on the relevance of specific garments in customers’ wardrobes. Modern classics, Swedish style and distinctive silhouettes are Toteme hallmarks, in which style comes before passing trends. The store is now being adapted to meet the brand’s new needs.

Byredo is a Swedish premium fragrance, beauty and leather accessories brand, founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham. Its first products consisted of fragrances that, in contrast to Scandinavian aesthetics, stem from Gorham’s heritage with influences from India. Since then, the brand has expanded its range to include make-up, bags, leather accessories and jewellery. With Byredo opening a new, larger premises, its current store at Mäster Samuelsgatan 6 will close.
