The project will commence immediately and tenants will begin moving in during autumn 2011. Hufvudstaden has signed a long lease with the law firm Vinge for approximately 3,300 square metres of office space, which accounts for two-thirds of the new extension.

Femman was built in 1972 and was designed by architects Backström & Reinius. It is part of the Nordstan shopping centre, which is one of the largest of its kind in northern Europe. Femman currently houses around 40,000 square metres of commercial floor space, of which approximately 20,000 square metres are office space.

“Hufvudstaden aims to offer successful retailing and office tenants attractive premises in central Stockholm and Gothenburg. Law firm Vinge has been a Hufvudstaden tenant in Gothenburg since the 1970s and we are extremely proud that we can satisfy the needs of one of our most loyal tenants for high-quality office premises in one of the best locations in Gothenburg,” states Ivo Stopner, President of Hufvudstaden.

In conjunction with the extension, the entire technical supply system in the property will be upgraded, primarily ventilation and lifts. The whole project is expected to be completed in spring 2012.
